Abstract

This work examined the relationship between entrepreneurial competence and organizational agility. The work adopted a cross-sectional survey and a total population of the study covered five hundred and fifty (550) owner manager businesses in Rivers State. A sample size of 226 respondents was drawn from the population. Copies of questionnaire were administered to get relevant information from the respondents. However, only 210 copies were well completed and used in the study. The simple random sampling technique was utilized. The data was analysed using the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) through the help of SMARTPLS in order to ascertain the relationship between entrepreneurial competence and organizational agility. The result revealed a significant link between the dimensions of entrepreneurial competence (strategic competence and opportunity competence) with the measures of organizational agility (alertness and responsive capability).It was concluded that strategic competence and opportunity competence are vital in enhancing the level of alertness and responsive capability of organizations. It was recommended among others that organizations should create a strategic fit between their company’s internal capabilities and the external environment’s changes as such will help boost their agility and enhance the wellbeing of the organization.
