Abstract
This study examined selected deposit money banks in Bayelsa State and how idealistic influence and organizational innovation interacted. The study used a cross-sectional research design. Out of the sixty-six (66) distributed questionnaires, sixty-two (62) copies were retrieved and examined during the field survey. The statistical tool Spearman’s rank order correlation coefficient was used to determine the link between the variables. The measures of organizational innovativeness (process and product innovations) and the predictor variable idealistic influence were shown to be strongly positively correlated. It was determined that the innovativeness of deposit money institutions in Bayelsa State considerably positively correlates with idealized influence. The study recommended that deposit money banks increase their capacity for innovation by hiring leaders with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop followers with exceptional leadership skills that will produce improved results, as well as help followers align their own goals with those of the banks.
